Dentists / Hygiene
“I have always loved Dunedin since arriving to attend University. My husband and I now live in Mosgiel with two very spoilt cats.
My professional experience began in a rural North Island town where I learned a lot from experiences with patients aged two years to retirement age. From there I had two years experience working in Dunedin before purchasing Pete’s practice.
Pete works 16 hours per week in the practice per week. Pete’s positive and supportive personality has enabled me to learn and enhance my skills in dentistry – Pete’s experience in dental procedures and how to run a practice has been priceless. We have also built a strong professional partnership and most importantly a great friendship.”
Pete’s Statement on Victoria:
“Since establishing the practice three years ago, Victoria has established herself as an exceptional dentist. Her growing reputation has seen the practice grow its client base, while ensuring the existing clients continue to receive the high standard of care and service.”
A message from Victoria:
I am very proud to introduce Dr Tony Chiu to our practice. As you know, Peter entrusted the responsibility of the practice to me 4 years ago. They were big shoes to fill! Since his retirement at the end of last year, I have been searching for another dentist to join our team who would continue to provide the high quality service and caring atmosphere Peter’s known for.
I’ve known Tony professionally for several years through tutoring together at the Dental School. This is where I saw, first hand, Tony’s exceptional skills & caring nature towards both students and patients. Tony and I will work together to provide you and your family with the best dental care possible. Tony is poised to continue the long tradition of providing compassionate, competent, high quality care for you and your family for years to come.
Kind Regard, Victoria Liu and team at VL Dental.
Hi, my name is Tony and I am honoured to be working in such a respected Dental Practice in the community such as Peter Ashton / Victoria Liu. I look forward to meeting you and giving you the very best in dental care.
I first started my dentistry career in Oamaru, then moved back to Dunedin where I have spent the last four years of my career. I enjoy all aspects of dentistry and I am motivated seeing improvement in oral care in order to reduce problems in the future.
In my spare time I am a keen portrait/wedding photographer and enjoy capturing friends and families special occasions. Being a violinist, I love both classical and jazz music. As a New Zealander, I am a proud supporter of the All Blacks, Highlanders and the America’s Cup sailors.
Looking forward to serving you with your dental needs!
Originally from Timaru, and my husband from Invercargill, we decided that Dunedin was the perfect place for us and our golden retriever to settle and be closer to family. Having studied here with Victoria, then working in Blenheim for a year, then having a further 6 years experience in the Wellington region, I moved back in December 2017 and it was an easy decision to join the team at VL Dental. We are loving being back in Dunedin, with it’s great food, beaches, excellent sporting events, concerts, and cultural events. I pride myself on making your dental visits as relaxing and gentle as possible, while maintaining a high level of care.
Pete Ashton – now enjoying his retirement!
Victoria’s Statement About Pete:
Pete has years of experience and a thoroughly deserved reputation as a brilliant dentist. The practice has always maintained a very high standard of dental care with a relaxed, caring attitude towards all patients.
I started practicing dentistry in Dunedin in 1977 and have been in the practice for over 30+ years!
After many years practicing dentistry, I am unable to work full-time anymore, having developed problems with my neck and left arm, which limit my movement and my golf swing!
I am delighted that Vic has bought the practice. She is an excellent dentist and has all the qualities to carry on the care of all our patients, many of whom have been with the practice as long as me! “
